Seamlessly Integrated Access Control Solutions

When it comes to safeguarding your facility and its occupants, one of the best ways to achieve peace of mind is facility access control systems. Homeland Safety Systems offers an advanced line of access control systems, from traditional computer based systems to the latest IP based technology. Our team of security experts can install anything from a one door stand-alone keypad all the way up to an entire campus or industrial building.

A quality access control system should provide quick, convenient access to an authorized person, and at the same time, restrict access by unauthorized intruders. With our professionally designed access control systems, you can track, record, and restrict outside entry as well as access to certain buildings, areas, and rooms. These systems can be more useful when integrated with other physical security systems such as video surveillance cameras and intrusion detection alarms. In addition to physical access control, we can also integrate information technology (IT) infiltration access of confidential, proprietary information access.

Our knowledge and dedication to the design, installation, service, and maintenance of our access control solutions have consistently proven itself over the last 20 years. At no cost to the prospective customer, we provide a thorough onsite free assessment, evaluation and no pressure analysis of your facility. Since these systems can be complex and challenging to manage, Homeland Safety Systems will evaluate your access risk points and customize a quality, facility-specific access control system that secures all entry points and complements your existing infrastructure.

TYPES OF ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS

Access control systems are very complex and require multiple technologies and hardware to work hand-in-hand as one single system. With your free consultation, Homeland Safety Systems will select the access control device that best fits your facility.

KEYPADS AND PROXIMITY CARD READERS

Keypad access control is a numeric coded keypad that requires a user to enter a unique, assigned PIN number which allows entry through an exterior door or authorized interior rooms. These access control applications are used for access control with low security and limited users with authorized access.

An access card is a uniquely encoded electronic key used by authorized persons to enter buildings or specific rooms within. The proximity card reader device electronically reads an access card when inserted into or waved at an exterior side of the door it controls. There is no direct contact needed between the access card and the proximity reader for the system to operate.

MAGNETIC LOCKS

A magnetic locking system is designed to send constant power to the lock. When a valid card is scanned at the door, the access control panel sends signal to a relay at the door. This signal will cut power to the lock and allow the person to open the door & gain entrance into the building.

Doors that have magnetic locks are installed with a motion sensor on the inside of the door which will unlock the door when someone walks up to provide egress. In addition to the motion sensor, a push to exit button is installed within 5 feet of the door which acts as a secondary egress device if the motion sensor does not unlock the door.

ELECTRIC STRIKES

We typically uses two types of electric strike locking devices; recessed mounted and surface mounted.

The recessed mounted electric strike is inset into the door frame and replaces the fixed strike faceplate on the door. When a valid card is scanned, power is supplied to the strike which releases the latch bar and allows the person to pull the door open without turning the knob.

The surface mounted electric strike operates almost exactly like the recessed electric strike, except it is installed on top of the frame rather than recessed into the frame. This type of lock is designed for doors that use rim-type surface mounted panic bars. This type of locking device will always ensure free egress so there is no hinderance to evacuate during an emergency.

ELECTRONIC LATCH RETRACTION

Electronic latch retraction (ELR) devices are primarily used on perimeter doors of a building that utilizes panic hardware in order to exit the building. The ELR is a solenoid or motor within the panic hardware which retracts the latch upon the output from the access control panel that a valid card was scanned. ELR’s are used on various types of latching devices such as rim devices, surface mount vertical rod devices, and concealed vertical rod style doors.

BIOMETRIC READERS

Biometric readers are electronic access control devices that determine someone's identity by detecting and matching physical characteristics such as hand features, eye scans, and facial recognition. This technology eliminates lost or stolen access cards and offer very high security, but are typically the most expensive.

BENEFITS OF ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS

ENHANCED SECURITY

Access control solutions provide a secure way to manage and monitor access to sensive areas and resources, reducing the risk of unauthorized access, theft, and other security breaches.

CUSTOMIZABLE SOLUTIONS

Access control solutions can be customized to meet the specific needs of an organization, allowing for different levels of access and control over resources.

SCALABILITY

Access control solutions can be scaled up or down to accomodate the needs of an organization, making them a flexible and cost-effective solution for businesses of all sizes.

STREAMLINED ACCESS

Access control solutions provide a convenient and streamlined way for employees to access areas and resources they are authorized to use, without the need for physical keys or complex authorization processes.

COMPLIANCE

Access control solutions can help organizations meet regulatory compliance requirements, such as HIPAA or PCI-DSS, by protecting sensitive data and ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to it.

REMOTE ACCESS

Access control solutions can enable remote access to resources, allowing employees to securely access data and resources from anywhere, at any time.

REAL-TIME MONITORING

Access control solutions provide real-time monitoring and reporting, allowing organizations to track and audit access to sensitive information, which can help identify potential security threats and breaches.

NDAA COMPLIANT

Our system components are in conformance and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). We also hold state and local qualifications for Security, Fire, Burglar and Low Voltage.

TRADEMARK LEVEL SERVICE

With regard to data security and privacy protection, we install our systems on an isolated network to maintain its integrity as well as the customer’s network. This also eliminates the possibility of either system becoming breached in the event of a cyberattack.

SUPERIOR DESIGN & INSTALLATION

We use the latest technologies and advanced placement techniques to allow our access control systems to deliver the best results. Our ability to choose the best system to fit your needs and the right locations for each installation ensures the facilities we work with are safe and secure.
